- 4 tablespoons of Butter
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil or regular oil
- 4 big onions chopped in pieces
- 3 cans of beef broth or vegetable stock or chicken stock
- 1 tablespoon of thyme
- Salt according to your taste
- Pepper according to your taste
- 1 and 1/2 cup of mixed cheese (parmesan swiss+provolone)
How to make
Chop the onions in medium size, now heat the pan and melt the butter. After melting the butter add the olive oil or any regular oil to the pan.
After the oil is heated to a point add the chopped onions and stir those, fry the onions to the point when they have turned pink or translucent. You do not have to brown the onions.
When the onions have turned translucent, you can add the beef broth and thyme.
Now add the seasonings according to your taste and let the mixer simmer for 30 minutes at the low heat.
