Ingredients To Make Mushroom Rice

  • 3/4 to 1 cup mushrooms sliced
  • 1 tablespoon of sesame or olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic chopped
  • Pepper powder, as required
  • 1/2 cup bell peppers or capsicum, sliced
  • 1 green chilli slit (optional)
  • 3/4 teaspoon vinegar
  • 1 spring onions or half small onion, sliced
  • 3/4 teaspoon soya sauce
  • Salt, as required
  • Half cup raw rice or 1 cup (240ml) cooked rice

How to make

  1. Wash and soak rice for about 15-20 minutes.

  2. Cook in with water until it is firm to the bite.

  3. Drain off in a colander and set aside.

  4. Now, heat olive or sesame oil in a pan or wok.

  5. Sauté garlic until aromatic on a medium to high flame.

  6. Sauté spring onion or onion slices for a minute or two.

  7. Add thin mushroom slices, capsicum, and slit green chillies. Sauté until all is cooked completely and appear tender.

  8. You may have to cover and cook mushrooms on a low heat as they generally leave out water.

  9. Add soya sauce and allow it to sauté on a medium to high flame.

  10. Add vinegar.

  11. Add pepper, cooked rice, and spring onion greens. It is also the time to sprinkle salt evenly.
